© Rother Table Tennis Academy (2011) Part of the Rother Table Tennis Academy Helping Young People Reach Their Potential About Premier Schools   Starting a Club with Premier Schools Starting a school club for the first time can be a difficult task, particularly for many primary schools where space and financial resources may be limited or stretched. PTA’s are the traditional source of additional funding but even their resources can be stretched to meet the many demands form other area’s within a school. The main costs for setting up a club are for tables, nets, bats and balls. This can cost between £2,000 and £3,000 just for the most basic of equipment based on a 4 table setup. This can be a lot of money to spend on a new venture but being part of Premier Schools can be a great advantage as schools do not need to access internal funds. Funding a Club Rother Table Tennis Academy can work with schools to obtain funding to furnish a school club. We can help put together and support an application to Sports Englands Small Grants Programme, as well as obtain the equipment, organise delivery and assembly of equipment where necessary.  We have been involved in 9 successful grant applications in the past 12 years obtains awards from various sources including the recent Foundation for Sport and the Arts, Awards 4 All (part of the National Lottery, Sports Unlimited and Sports England Small Grants Programme. To help schools get a club off the ground as soon as possible, and to aid the application for funding, we have a total of 8 tables available to kick start a club, allowing upto 16 pupils at any one time. Equipment will be provided on a short or long term basis, as long as a school remains part of Premier Schools. All we ask is that schools make sure the equipment is safe. Staffing a Club Staffing a Premier Schools Table Tennis Club isnt a problem. We are able to provide suitably qualified staff who are all CRB checked with those working in schools having undertaken a ESCC CRB. Alternatively you can arrange you own checks. All coaches are qualified to the level required to deliver sessions, currently upto level 3. All licenced coaches are fully insured and can provide copies of all documentation. Costs of providing a Coach are met through session fees collected direct from parents, however this can be discussed at any preliminary meeting.
